Meet Ellen. Ellen loves companionship and head/neck rubs and will reward you with nonstop purring. She is a very loving kitty who is now getting the help she needs to turn her life around.

Ellen was fed a VERY unhealthy diet in her former residence and it resulted in Ellen becoming extremely overweight. Because she was so overweight, she could not use the litter box. Her owner asked that Ellen be put to sleep because of this. Fortunately, the vet said no and they would find a home for her. They called LAPP, and we said YES. All types of blood tests were done and THANK GOODNESS Ellen's health is good. But the extra weight puts stress on her heart, liver, legs and joints so it is imperative that she lose weight.

Ellen is now with someone who understands the need for weight loss and is helping her do limited exercise and feeding her a proper diet. As the weight slowly comes off, Ellen continues to feel better and is starting to enjoy activity. If you are interested in adopting Ellen, you would have to continue her weight loss program which will probably last until late 2017 or early 2018. Ellen weighed almost 30 pounds when she came to LAPP and in November, 2016, she weighs 22 lbs. She is on the road to recovery!!! She will need to continue losing about 1/4 pound per week until she gets to her desired weight.
